Rosendals Garden, Garden and café on Djurgården, Stockholm, Sweden
Rosendals Trädgård is a garden and café on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm. The grounds include greenhouses, an orchard, planting beds, and an outdoor seating area next to a café and a wood-fired bakery.
The land on Djurgården originally belonged to a royal estate and was used for food production from early on. In the late 20th century it was reorganized as a biodynamic farm run by a non-profit foundation.
In summer, Rosendals Trädgård turns into a popular gathering spot where visitors spread blankets on the grass and eat outside. A small shop near the exit sells honey, jams, and garden tools produced on the property.
The garden is easy to reach on foot from the Djurgårdsbron bridge by following signs along the canal. The outdoor café area can get busy in summer, so a weekday morning visit tends to be quieter.
The café uses ingredients grown with biodynamic methods, which means the growing cycle is aligned with lunar phases. The bread baked fresh each day in the wood-fired oven can often be smelled from the garden paths.
