Half Moon Bay Golf Links
Half Moon Bay Golf Links comprises two coastal golf courses, one designed by Arnold Palmer and the other by Arthur Hills. The courses offer views of the Pacific Ocean and are planted with mature cypress trees and native grasses, with several holes positioned on overhanging cliffs.
The Old Course was built in the early 1970s and winds through meadows and trees with a famous finishing hole on a wide cliff edge. The Ocean Course opened in the late 1990s with a Scottish links style and offers ocean views from nearly every hole.
The place takes its name from the crescent-shaped bay where it sits. Visitors experience a blend of golf and coastal living here, where the location serves as a backdrop for private celebrations and weddings, reflecting the relaxed lifestyle of California's coast.
Both courses are open to the public and offer cart rental and club rental for visitors. Weather can be cool and foggy, so proper clothing and sun protection are recommended to make your visit more comfortable.
From several holes on the Old Course, whales can be spotted swimming by in the Pacific during your round. The Ocean Course is sometimes filled with bagpipe sounds that drift across the hills in the evening, creating a distinctive moment.
