Omu Resort Ibeju Lekki
Omu Resort is a large recreation facility in Ibeju-Lekki that combines various attractions across about 22 hectares. It features a small zoo with roughly 40 animals from Africa, water attractions, a wax museum, horse riding, a go-kart track, quad biking, archery, and play areas for children.
The resort was developed to provide visitors from nearby Lagos with a place to relax in nature away from the city. Over time it has expanded its offerings and regularly adds new activities such as skating and kayaking.
The resort takes its name from the nearby Omu Creek that shapes the area. Visitors experience how families gather here to spend time together, observe animals, and connect with the natural landscape that defines daily recreation for people in this region.
The resort is about 45 minutes by car from Lagos and has ample parking for visitors. It is wise to call ahead or buy tickets online to save time and ensure a smooth arrival.
One of the most unusual experiences is watching a lion named Simba during feeding time when it is given a live goat, which is a rare opportunity to see the raw power of these big cats. The wax museum contains sculptures of famous Nigerian leaders that look remarkably lifelike and encourage visitors to take photos alongside them.
