D - Hamburg - Il Vicolo is an Italian restaurant at Lämmerwiete 12 in the Harburg district of Hamburg. Run by Sandro Battaglia, a chef originally from Sicily, it serves southern Italian dishes including Sicilian recipes made with traditional ingredients.
The restaurant opened in March 2025 in a building that had previously housed another eatery. Before opening Il Vicolo, Sandro Battaglia ran a restaurant called Porticello in the old part of Hamburg for five years.
The restaurant sits on Lämmerwiete, a short street in the center of Harburg that is easy to reach on foot. In summer, an outdoor terrace is available, making a visit during good weather especially enjoyable.
The name Il Vicolo means "the alley" in Italian and directly refers to Lämmerwiete, which is itself a narrow lane. Sandro Battaglia also sells the Sicilian olive oil he uses in his cooking directly to guests, which is an unusual touch for a restaurant.
