Yushukan Museum

The Yushukan Museum displays weapons, uniforms, military documents, photographs, and personal items of Japanese soldiers from different periods of history.

Founded in 1882 with guidance from Italian architect Giovanni Cappeletti, the museum structure incorporated design elements of medieval Italian castles.

The exhibition spaces present military artifacts including swords, armor, battle flags, and personal letters that belonged to Japanese service members.

Visitors can access the museum from Kudanshita Station through a five-minute walk, with operating hours from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily.

The museum houses a restored A6M Zero fighter aircraft and a Class C56 steam locomotive in its ground floor exhibition space.
