Chateau Péby Faugères, Winery in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, France.

Château Péby Faugères is a winery located on a hillside with clay-limestone soil facing south-southeast, where a nearby river influences the local climate. The property focuses on producing Merlot wines with grapes grown across several hectares of vines.

The estate took its name in 1998 from Pierre-Bernard Guisez, known as Péby, and was recognized as Grand Cru Classé in the Saint-Émilion classification in 2012. This recognition marked a turning point in its development as a respected producer in the region.

The winery reflects the wine heritage of the Saint-Émilion region, where the craft of growing grapes on hillsides has shaped the local identity for generations. Visitors notice the careful attention to tradition in how the work unfolds across the vineyards and in the cellar.

The vineyard sits on a steep slope that is walkable but requires sturdy footwear to navigate safely. Spring through autumn offers the best conditions for a visit, as the vines are active and the surrounding landscape is most appealing during the growing season.

The winery produces only around 18 hectoliters per hectare, a result of strict grape selection aimed at maximizing quality. This minimal yield means each bottle is carefully composed from the finest grapes of the harvest.
