Holiday Club Saariselkä
Holiday Club Saariselkä is a spa hotel and holiday resort in northern Inari, located near Urho Kekkonen National Park. The resort has 139 rooms in one main building, two restaurants called Rakka and Revontuli, and a large spa area with pools, water slides, and various saunas.
The resort was founded as Europe's northernmost spa hotel and has grown into a year-round holiday destination. Saariselkä's location was historically shaped by Sámi culture, whose influence remains visible in the region today.
The name Saariselkä comes from a local lake and hill that shape the village landscape. The resort reflects Finnish traditions through its saunas, regional dishes made with reindeer and berries, and wooden architecture typical of Lapland.
Access to the resort is straightforward year-round, with well-maintained roads even during snowy winter months. All main facilities like restaurants, spa, and rooms are in the same building, so there is no need to go outside in the cold.
The resort is Europe's northernmost spa hotel and possibly the world's, earning fame for this distinction. The unusual feature is that warm water in the spa remains comfortable even when extreme cold surrounds it outside, giving guests an unforgettable contrast experience.
