Green Gate, City gate and museum on Długi Targ, Gdańsk, Poland

The Green Gate features a Renaissance architectural design with four passages, ornamental elements, reliefs, sculptures, and decorative gables on its grand facade.

Constructed between 1564 and 1568 by architects Regnier and Hans Kramer, this structure replaced the former Cog Gate dating from 1357.

The first floor contains a 300-square-meter room where Gdańsk residents organized festivals, celebrations, and theatrical presentations throughout history.

The building now serves as a branch of the National Museum in Gdańsk, displaying exhibitions about local history and maritime heritage.

Despite being intended as a royal residence, the gate hosted only one monarch: Marie Louise Gonzaga in 1646 during her journey to marry King Władysław IV.
