Eibsee Pavillon, Lake restaurant in Grainau, Germany
The Eibsee Pavillon is a restaurant with large glass fronts on the southeastern shore of Lake Eibsee, with a direct view of the water and the Zugspitze. The building connects the interior to a terrace right at the water's edge.
The building was completed in 2019 as a new construction, adding a dining option to the area around Lake Eibsee. It was part of an effort to improve visitor facilities in the region.
The restaurant reflects the region's preference for high-quality ingredients and seasonal menus. This approach shows how the local mountain landscape shapes food and dining culture in this part of Bavaria.
The restaurant has a large terrace right on the lake, which fills up quickly on fine days, so a reservation is a good idea. A bus parking area is available close to the entrance.
The entire glass front of the restaurant can be fully opened, so the boundary between the terrace and the interior almost disappears. With the panels open, guests are essentially sitting outside without changing their seat.
