Muzeum Sentymentów

Muzeum Sentymentów is a nostalgia museum in Kowary featuring fifteen thematic rooms across roughly 500 square meters. The collection displays everyday objects from past decades arranged to convey how people furnished their homes and lived in earlier times.

The museum opened in 2018 inside a former carpet factory building where Edward Gierek addressed workers from the original podium in 1978. The location merges local industrial history with personal memory culture preserved through everyday household items.

The displays recreate authentic Polish household interiors including a grandmother's kitchen, youth rooms, and offices from earlier times that reflect how different generations lived and worked. Visitors step into these reconstructed spaces and experience the daily rhythms of people across various walks of life.

The museum operates with varying hours depending on the season, and advance booking is needed for groups of five or more visitors, especially during slower periods. It is best to contact the venue beforehand or check online to confirm when you plan to visit.

The institution holds the only exhibition of military reserve scarves in Poland, a specialized collection that complements the broader array of household objects on display. This unusual assemblage reflects how diverse personal items shaped the texture of everyday life for visitors to experience.
