Discovery Resorts
Discovery Resorts is a resort hotel in Kings Canyon located between Uluru and Alice Springs in central Australia. It offers various room types including modern spa rooms with private balconies, simple standard rooms, and glamping tents for different preferences and budgets.
The land has been sacred to the Luritja and Arrente peoples for more than 30,000 years. The resort was recently renovated to blend with the natural landscape while respecting the area's deep historical and cultural significance.
The place draws its identity from the Indigenous Luritja and Arrente peoples who have held the land sacred for tens of thousands of years. Through the Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience, visitors can hear stories, see art, and understand how these cultures view the landscape and its creatures as inseparable.
The resort sits about 7 kilometers from Watarrka National Park's entrance, making it convenient for exploring Kings Canyon on foot. It provides wheelchair-accessible rooms and facilities, and staff can offer guidance about the area's best walking routes and activities.
The resort features Bruce Munro's Light Towers, tall glowing structures arranged in a circle that change colors at sunrise, sunset, and night. After dark these illuminated towers can be disorienting to walk among, so visitors should take time to navigate carefully through them.
