Salonschiff Fräulein Florentine, Museum ship and cafe at Urfahrmarkt, Austria
The Salonschiff Fräulein Florentine is a floating restaurant and cafe moored in Linz's Danube harbor. The vessel has indoor and outdoor seating areas where guests can dine, enjoy drinks, and view art exhibitions.
The history of this place began with the Hotel Rother Krebs on the opposite side of the Danube, a spot where writer Karl May once stayed. In 2013, the establishment was relocated and converted into its present form as a moored vessel.
Artists and creative people gather here to meet, exchange ideas, and present their work in an informal setting. The spaces encourage spontaneous encounters and serve as a meeting point for the local art community.
Access to the vessel is via a gangway from the riverside promenade, with the decks easily navigable and welcoming for visitors. Guests can visit during the day or evening depending on whether they want to dine, drink, or attend art events.
The upper deck features vintage lounge chairs and reclaimed furniture that give the space a relaxed, retro quality. This unconventional setup makes the ship feel like a retreat that stands apart from typical restaurant experiences.
