IntercityHotel Frankfurt
IntercityHotel Frankfurt is a hotel with 414 rooms on the south side of the main train station, designed by architect Matteo Thun with a clean, modern look. Rooms are straightforward and comfortable with television, fast internet, air conditioning and a small safe, while the building also contains six meeting spaces that can hold up to 160 people and a restaurant serving breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner.
The hotel was built as part of the development of the train station area and designed as a modern transit hub for arriving and departing travelers. Its position directly at the south entrance of the main station ties it to Frankfurt's evolving transport infrastructure and the shift toward contemporary rail travel.
The hotel's name references its location directly beside the main train station, highlighting its role as a hub for travelers passing through the city. Inside, photographs displayed throughout show the train station across different eras and moods, reflecting how this place marks time and movement in Frankfurt.
The hotel sits directly at the main train station with public transport access all around it, and every guest receives a free city ticket that covers buses and trains throughout Frankfurt. Rooms are soundproofed, and staff can provide information about museums, theaters and sightseeing spots, with major attractions like the Palmengarten or Main Tower easily reachable on foot or by public transport.
Starting January 2026, the hotel will be fully digitalized with online check-in, digital room keys, and contactless payment throughout all areas. This transition shows an early step toward modernizing hotel services and highlights how the property is advancing technologically while keeping focus on traveler comfort.
