SchücoArena, Football stadium in Bielefeld, Germany.
SchücoArena is a football stadium in the Mitte district of Bielefeld, with a capacity of around 26,000 seats and facilities used for both sport and events. The grounds include several configurable rooms suited for conferences and private functions alongside the main pitch.
The stadium opened in 1926 under the name Bielefelder Alm and remained a fixture in the city for decades. It received its current name in 2005 after a naming rights agreement with Schüco International KG.
The SchücoArena is the home ground of DSC Arminia Bielefeld, a club with deep roots in the city and a loyal local following. On match days, fans dressed in blue and white fill the stands and gather outside long before kickoff.
The stadium is fully wheelchair accessible and has on-site parking along with food vendors spread across the grounds. On match days, arriving early makes it easier to find your bearings and avoid the busiest areas around the entrances.
The original name Bielefelder Alm referred to an alpine meadow, as the site once sat on the edge of town surrounded by pastureland. That rural origin is barely visible today, but the old name still lives on among longtime supporters.
