Britzer Mühle, Traditional restaurant at historic windmill in Neukölln, Germany.
The Britzer Mühle is a restaurant housed in a restored miller's residence next to a historic windmill in Neukölln. The building accommodates roughly 200 people indoors and another 400 in the beer garden.
The site dates back to 1865 and originally served as a working flour mill powered by wind. In 1936, the wind-driven system was replaced with a diesel engine.
The restaurant shapes the character of the square with its traditional cooking style, used daily by visitors from the neighborhood. People gather here to eat as they would in a classic inn, with the historic setting defining the everyday experience.
It makes sense to use the outdoor seating during warm weather, since the beer garden offers more space. The breakfast menu is extensive, so visiting in the morning can be rewarding.
The adjacent mill building still grinds grain, and the fresh flour is used to bake bread. The house-made bread is available for purchase at the on-site bread shop.
