Anglesey Transport Museum & Café
Anglesey Transport Museum & Café is a museum on the Isle of Anglesey housing a large collection of over 120 classic vehicles from different periods, including cars from the 1920s, motorcycles, tractors, military vehicles, and even a jet plane. The vehicles are arranged around a recreated 1940s street, giving visitors the feeling of stepping back in time.
The museum was founded in the early 2000s by Arfon Williams, who opened his personal vehicle collection to the public. Over the years it has grown to become Wales's largest collection of its kind and has been featured in several television programs.
The museum is known locally by the Welsh name Tacla Taid, reflecting a personal connection to the area's past. The 1940s street layout shows how people traveled and lived during that era.
Located in Newborough on the Isle of Anglesey, the museum is open most days of the week, making it easy to plan a visit. On-site facilities include a café serving local food, a play area for children, disabled access with ramps, and a nearby caravan site with electric hookups and shower facilities for extended stays.
Some vehicles in the collection have been used in films and television shows, giving visitors a chance to see vehicles they may have spotted on screen. The museum also offers vehicle rental services for weddings, film productions, and other special events.
