Palafitte, Waterfront hotel and restaurant in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
Palafitte is a waterfront hotel and restaurant along Lake Neuchatel comprising 38 individual pavilions built on stilts, with 24 units extending directly over the water. Each room offers private terrace space and direct access to the lake environment.
The property opened in 2002 as an innovative architectural development built through a partnership between the Sandoz Family Foundation and the Hotel School Lausanne.
The restaurant downstairs merges Swiss cooking traditions with modern gastronomy, working directly with local farmers and regional winemakers to source ingredients.
The location sits roughly 10 minutes from Neuchatel town center with direct lake access and private terraces on every unit. Meeting spaces are available for groups of up to 60 people.
Each pavilion includes a removable floor panel that allows guests to observe the lake water flowing directly beneath their room.
