Puig de Sant Miquel

Puig de Sant Miquel, Mountain peak in Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca, Spain.

Puig de Sant Miquel is a 661-meter peak in Serra de Tramuntana that rises between s'Alcadena and Finca Solleric. From its summit, hikers see sweeping views across the mountain range and surrounding valleys, with terraced slopes marking the mountainsides.

The mountain was central to a network of pathways that connected ancient mountain communities and served as vital communication routes over centuries. These historic paths enabled exchange between settlements scattered across the region.

The terraced slopes show the handiwork of local farmers who follow age-old growing methods passed down through families. These practices remain visible in how the land is organized and maintained today.

Marked trails from Alaró lead to the summit, with the hike taking about two hours and requiring sturdy footwear. Visitors should prepare for changing conditions and bring plenty of water.

The mountain hosts rock formations that create habitats for plant species found nowhere else in the Balearic Islands. These geological features make the peak notable for nature observers.
