West World of Scottsdale

West World of Scottsdale is a large event facility in Maricopa County, Arizona, featuring over 300,000 square feet (27,870 square meters) of indoor space within the Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center. The grounds include nine equestrian arenas, a climate-controlled Equidome seating over 3,300 people, North and South halls for various uses, and ten outdoor spaces with 10 acres (4 hectares) of turf for shows and gatherings.

West World of Scottsdale opened in 1987 and evolved into a hub for communities interested in horses and western traditions. Over the decades, the venue expanded from a dedicated equestrian facility to a multifaceted event space hosting concerts, car auctions, and various exhibitions.

West World of Scottsdale reflects a strong tradition of horsemanship and western culture in the region. Visitors can watch people grooming horses, training in arenas, and gathering around competitions that celebrate riding skills and equestrian heritage.

The venue offers ample parking for cars, motor coaches, and RVs, with clear signage throughout making it easy to find your way around the grounds. Overnight RV reservations are available in advance, and a nearby shop sells horse feed and supplies that can be ordered by phone or online.

Though originally focused on equestrian activities, the grounds developed a remarkable ability to host diverse events while maintaining their horse-centered identity. This flexibility has allowed the venue to simultaneously hold the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction, and the Sun Country Quarter Horse Circuit, making it a space where different communities converge.
