Friche la Belle de Mai

The Friche Belle de Mai fills a former tobacco factory with 45,000 square meters of space dedicated to contemporary arts and cultural activities.

In 1992, artists transformed this abandoned tobacco factory into a space for cultural creation and production in the city of Marseille.

The complex contains seventy creative organizations, two theaters, six concert halls, and twenty-five hundred square meters of exhibition spaces.

The cultural center remains open daily from seven in the morning until eleven at night, with free admission to temporary exhibitions.

An eight-thousand-square-meter rooftop terrace provides views across the city of Marseille and its Mediterranean port.
