LAGO Mons, also known as Piscine du Grand Large, is an aquatic center in the Belgian city of Mons with indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, and a lazy river. The complex offers areas for different swimming levels as well as a leisure zone with a wave pool and bubble baths.
The center opened in March 2011, replacing older pools in the Hainaut region that no longer met modern needs. Since then, the LAGO network has taken over the facility and developed it further under its brand.
Locals from Mons and the surrounding area come here regularly for swimming lessons and water fitness classes. On weekends, the site becomes a meeting point for families spending the afternoon together near the water.
Arriving early is a good idea on weekends and during school holidays, as the pools fill up quickly. Changing rooms and showers are available on site, and swimwear can be purchased there if needed.
The Rest-eau-Cafe on the grounds has two separate areas: one for fully dressed visitors and one for guests in swimwear. This means swimmers can take a break and grab a bite without leaving the water zone to change first.
