LAGO Gent Rozebroeken, Water park and wellness complex in Sint-Amandsberg, Belgium
LAGO Gent Rozebroeken is a water and wellness complex in Ghent, Belgium, with several pools including a 50-meter competition pool, a wave pool, outdoor pools, and a dedicated children's zone with water play equipment. A separate wellness section with saunas and thermal baths is also part of the facility.
The complex opened in the early 2000s as part of a broader effort to modernize public leisure facilities across Flanders. It was built in response to growing demand for spaces that combined sport and wellness under one roof.
The name Rozebroeken refers to the Ghent district where the facility sits, giving it a strong local identity. Visitors use the space for very different reasons on the same day, mixing family swimming sessions with quieter time in the wellness area.
The facility is divided into clearly separated zones, so it helps to decide in advance which area you want to focus on, whether the pools, the children's section, or the wellness area. Each section has its own changing rooms, which makes moving between them straightforward.
One of the slides is equipped with a virtual reality system that projects different environments around riders as they go down, with three scenarios available: jungle, space, and snow. This kind of setup is rarely found in public swimming facilities in Belgium.
