The establishment was founded in 1957 by immigrants from Madeira Island and maintained its original location on Rua Siqueira Campos through the decades. After a period of decline, three former customers purchased it and revitalized the business while preserving its traditional concept.
Musicians Nelson Cavaquinho and João Nogueira spent time here, shaping the place's character through their visits. It is now recognized as a Cultural Heritage site and reflects the history of samba tradition in the neighborhood.
The venue is open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM, making it a good option for late evening visits. The space is fairly accessible and provides enough room for various group sizes.
The venue's revival came from three loyal customers who purchased and brought it back to life after it had nearly closed. This chapter of rescue is now part of the place's story today.
