Modjo

Modjo is a climbing gym in the Quartiers Nord-Ouest neighborhood of Rennes with two main areas for training. A bouldering section spans 500 square meters with walls standing 4.5 meters high, while a rope climbing section covers 150 square meters with walls reaching 8 meters, offering 11 climbing lines in total.

The facility opened in 2016 and brought a modern climbing space to Rennes with advanced wall technology from its beginning. This addition helped establish a growing climbing community in the area.

The gym draws climbers of all levels who gather regularly to train and support each other. The community feels welcoming, with people naturally helping newcomers find their way and sharing advice about different routes.

The facility is accessible and well-equipped with safety gear for both climbing styles. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and take time to understand the different difficulty levels available, especially if trying the space for the first time.

A standout feature is the auto-belay systems that allow solo climbers to practice rope climbing without a partner while staying safe. This makes training more flexible and accessible for everyone.
