Sherwood Parc, Adventure and amusement park in Viarmes, France
Sherwood Parc is an adventure park in Viarmes, north of Paris, set inside a wooded area with activities built among the trees and on the ground. The courses are divided into different difficulty levels, so children, families and more experienced visitors can each find a suitable route.
The park opened in the 2000s, at a time when forest adventure parks were beginning to spread across the Ile-de-France region. It was among the first sites in the area to use standardized safety systems for treetop courses.
The name Sherwood refers to the legendary English forest from the Robin Hood legend, giving the park a storybook feel that children and adults both notice right away. Archery activities are available on site, directly inspired by that theme.
The park is located in Viarmes and can be reached from Paris by car or regional train. Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes are recommended, and it is worth checking in advance whether certain activities have minimum height requirements.
The park features a zip line that runs through the forest canopy and is one of the longest of its kind in the Paris area. Unlike many similar parks, the ground beneath the obstacles is covered in natural forest floor rather than artificial surfacing, which makes the whole experience feel closer to a real woodland.
