Sandpatch Beach Stairs

The wooden staircase consists of 500 steps descending along the rocky coastline next to the Albany Wind Farm toward the ocean below.

The upper section of the stairs, constructed in the 1980s using Jarrah wood, underwent substantial restoration in 2018 due to natural deterioration.

Local residents and visitors use these stairs for fitness training, making them a central point for community physical activities in Albany.

The staircase includes multiple viewing platforms for resting, while the climb requires good physical condition due to the steep grade.

Deep waters near the beach contain a large salmon population, attracting fishermen despite the strong currents and reef formations.
