Plage de la Nartelle

Plage de la Nartelle is a roughly 1.5-kilometer sandy shore along the Mediterranean with gently sloping access into clear blue waters. The beach features a waterfront promenade with cafes and facilities serving day-trippers throughout the season.

The site served as a maritime crossroads for traders and fishing communities throughout the Middle Ages and beyond. Over time this landing point transformed from a working port area into the leisure destination it is today.

The waterfront dining spots here showcase Mediterranean cooking with ingredients sourced from nearby fishing boats operating in the gulf. These establishments reflect how the community lives connected to the sea and its resources.

The beach is wheelchair accessible with parking available along Avenue du Général Touzet nearby. Sun loungers and paddleboards are available for rent from operators stationed at the shore.

This shore received the Pavillon Bleu award recognizing environmental excellence and water quality management. The certification marks it as one of few beaches meeting such rigorous standards.
