Golf d'Arcangues, Golf course in Arcangues, France.
Golf d'Arcangues is a golf course set across 80 hectares of oak forests, pastures, and rolling hills with water features integrated throughout. The 18-hole layout uses the natural landscape to create its playing design and challenges.
The course opened in 1991, designed by American architect Ronald Fream, who blended the existing landscape with technical playing challenges. Since its creation, it has become an established sporting venue in the region.
The clubhouse displays local Basque architectural traits, and the place connects visitors with regional sporting customs and local competitions. The course integrates itself into the wider landscape and community life of the area.
It is best to visit when weather conditions are stable, as the rolling terrain can become slippery after rain. Equipment rental is available at the clubhouse, which serves as a good starting point for planning your round.
Three holes curve around Arcangues Castle, while nine others face south toward the Pyrenees mountains. This creates two distinct playing zones, each with its own landscape character.
