The Hefei Wildlife Zoo spans 54.4 hectares with specialized areas for birds, peacocks, and Australian animals arranged in an L-shaped layout.

The zoo began construction on August 8, 1995, opened in April 1997, and received national AAAA tourism status in August 2007.

The zoo conducts educational programs such as giraffe winter planting activities and bird observation weeks to promote wildlife conservation awareness.

Daily operations run from 7:30 to 16:40, with adult tickets priced at 35 yuan and children's tickets at 17 yuan, including discounts for special groups.

The facility features China's largest walk-through aviary, housing over 200 nationally protected bird species and 800 ornamental birds.
