Dashu Shan is a mountain rising 284 meters above sea level in Hefei, with slopes covered by subtropical deciduous forests and broadleaf evergreen woods. The oval-shaped terrain features gentle to moderate grades throughout its expanse.
The mountain was originally a natural landmark in the landscape but gradually became a center for local recreation and outdoor activities. This transformation led to the creation of Dashushan National Forest Park as a formally protected area.

The mountain's slopes are notably gentle, with maximum grades around 30 degrees, making the climb accessible to visitors of varying fitness levels. Despite these moderate grades, the terrain supports over 20 species of evergreen and deciduous trees in dense growth.
