Tongling Yangtze River Bridge

The Tongling Yangtze River Bridge is a cable-stayed structure that crosses the river with a main span of about 430 meters supported by two massive concrete towers. The entire crossing measures about 1,150 meters (3,770 feet) and carries four lanes of traffic.

Construction began in 1991 and the bridge opened in 1995, marking an important step in improving regional transportation infrastructure. At that time, spanning such a wide section of the river with this engineering approach was a notable achievement for the area.

The bridge links communities across one of China's most important waterways, serving as a daily passage for countless people whose lives and work depend on this connection. It represents the role infrastructure plays in bringing regions together.

The bridge is part of a major transportation corridor and can be accessed from viewing areas on both riverbanks. Pedestrians and casual visitors can photograph the structure from nearby parks or pullouts along the water's edge.
