The Bronze Statue of Yao Yilin, Bronze statue in Guichi District, China

The Bronze Statue of Yao Yilin is a public monument to a Chinese political leader located in Guichi District. The full-size sculpture stands outdoors and portrays the figure in formal attire using traditional bronze casting methods.

Yao Yilin, a native of Liujie township in Guichi and former Vice Premier of the State Council, died in Beijing on 11 December 1994. On 12 January 1998 the CPC Central Committee approved the statue, construction began on 28 September 1998, and it was completed on 15 May 1999. Chen Jinhua, then a vice chairman of the CPPCC, attended the unveiling at Baihe Park.

Yao Yilin was born in Liujie township, now part of Meijie town in Guichi District, and the statue stands in Baihe Park facing south. On 28 September 2000, twenty couples in wedding dress gathered before it for a collective wedding themed "share the joy with the motherland, tie a century bond"; each pair then planted a "husband-and-wife tree", and those saplings still grow.

The statue stands on Baiya Hill inside Baihe Park in Chizhou's Guichi District, facing south. The bronze figure sits on a 0.4-metre base, so the seated portrait is best viewed from the front, where Jiang Zemin's inscription "Comrade Yao Yilin" is cut into the pedestal. The hilltop was undeveloped scrub and old graves before the monument was built.

The sculpture was crafted by artisans from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, demonstrating the quality of the work. The casting reveals fine details visible only up close, reflecting the skill of this well-respected institution.
