Village des Tortues

The Village des Tortues spans across 2.5 hectares of land in Corsica, providing natural habitats for 170 different species of turtles and tortoises from worldwide locations.

The conservation center began operations in 1993 under Philippe Magnan's leadership and later transitioned to veterinarian Pierre Moisson's management to enhance animal care standards.

The facility maintains a research center that contributes to international turtle preservation efforts while educating visitors about the protection of European native species.

Visitors can access the center via the T20 road, with train connections from Ajaccio to Carbuccia station, followed by a 20-minute walk through the D129 route.

The center houses multiple specialized areas including ponds, streams, wetlands, and a medical clinic where veterinarians perform surgeries and provide care for injured turtles.
