Parc animalier des Vernaux, Animal park and leisure space in Tavaux, France
Parc animalier des Vernaux is an animal park spread across approximately two hectares of woodland, housing species such as deer, goats, emus, and llamas. Pathways wind through the forested area, allowing visitors to observe the animals in settings that resemble their natural habitats.
The animal park was established by Tavaux's municipal administration in 1982 as a public space for the community. Since its opening, it has developed into an established destination now housing around 150 different animals.
The park serves as a gathering place where visitors of all ages can watch both local and introduced animal species in a natural setting. People come here to step away from daily routines and spend time with family or friends while observing animals up close.
Visitors can bring their own food items to the park, where staff at the entrance check whether they are suitable for animal feeding. It helps to wear comfortable shoes since the grounds consist of forest paths and natural terrain.
A botanical trail was added in spring 2012 where visitors can identify different tree species in the forest. This educational path makes the visit interesting for those wanting to learn more about local plant life.
