La Petite Bray'tagne, Educational petting zoo in Blacourt, France.
La Petite Bray'tagne is a farm of about 2.5 hectares with various animal species like donkeys, horses, ponies, alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, and peacocks living in natural surroundings. The property lets visitors meet and observe these animals up close.
The farm emerged in response to growing interest in interactive learning about agriculture in the Oise region. The project brought specialized animal breeds like Thone and Marthod sheep to the property to preserve traditional breeding practices.
The farm invites visitors to learn about traditional farming methods and animal care through hands-on activities. The workshops teach knowledge about sustainable agriculture and the role of animals in rural life.
Guided tours happen on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, while children's workshops run on Wednesday mornings and Friday evenings. It helps to check what activities are available beforehand and wear comfortable clothes for walking around.
The property contains a natural pond that provides habitat for fish, frogs, and newts while being home to dragonflies and damselflies. This water ecosystem shows visitors the biological life beyond just farm animals.
