La Ferme d'Idéfix

La Ferme d'Idéfix is a petting zoo in Bagnols-en-Forêt that houses more than 200 animals across roughly eight hectares of land. The facility features a mix of common farm animals and rarer breeds that live in open spaces.

The farm was founded to protect rare animal breeds and played an important role in preserving Dahomey cattle. These cattle represent some of the last examples of this breed still found in France.

The place lets visitors connect with animals up close and learn about farming life through hands-on experiences. Children can feed and pet different species here, discovering how a working farm operates.

The best way to explore the farm is by walking at a leisurely pace through the grounds and spending time at different animal areas. Comfortable shoes are recommended since the terrain can be uneven and shaded areas are limited.

The farm takes its name from Idefix, the dog from the Asterix comic book series. This nod to French pop culture gives the place a playful character that appeals especially to families visiting the area.
