Espace Animalier

Espace Animalier is a zoo spanning two hectares within Nancy's Pépinière Park, featuring wooded areas, water features, and designed enclosures. The facility houses more than forty animal species in naturalistic settings.

The facility was founded in the late 19th century and has undergone multiple changes to meet evolving standards for animal care and visitor experience. This evolution reflects shifting approaches to zoo management over time.

The space displays animal breeds long familiar to the region, such as Lorraine goats and Ouessant sheep. Visitors can see how these animals live in maintained enclosures and understand their role in local farming traditions.

The facility opens daily from 13:30 to 16:45 with free admission and wheelchair accessibility throughout. Comfortable footwear is recommended as paths wind through park grounds and natural areas.

The zoo provides Braille information panels for visually impaired visitors that describe species such as white storks and crowned cranes. This offering makes the experience accessible and informative for guests with sight loss.
