Parc Ornithologique

Parc Ornithologique is a 30-hectare sanctuary with wetlands, forests, and ponds designed to provide habitat for many bird species. The landscapes are arranged to support wild populations and allow visitors to observe them up close.

The site opened in 1999 as a conservation project focused on protecting Brittany's native bird populations. Over the years it has grown into a center dedicated to safeguarding threatened species and their habitats.

The park offers guided observations where visitors can watch birds behaving naturally in their environments. You can understand how different species interact and what roles they play in the local ecosystem.

The park is located near Rennes and operates daily with seasonal variations in opening hours. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the different zones, as the grounds are spread across a large area.

Visitors can observe more than 50 bird species here, including colorful pheasants, birds of prey, ibises, and black swans. These species live in semi-natural settings that offer genuine observation opportunities without keeping animals in traditional cages.
