Wildgehege
The Wildgehege in Senftenberg is an animal enclosure located in the Zły Komorow area where visitors can observe various animals year-round in separate habitats. The facility features flat pathways connecting sections for farm animals, birds, and exotic species such as raccoons and caracals.
The facility was established in 1931 and has maintained its character as a family-friendly animal space ever since. Over decades, it expanded by adding new enclosures and play areas while keeping accessibility and simplicity as core principles.
The animal enclosure allows visitors to watch both common and exotic animals in an environment where they can move freely. The setting encourages people to observe natural behavior and develop a connection with wildlife in a peaceful way.
The grounds are fully accessible with level pathways and rest areas distributed throughout for breaks. Visitors should check seasonal hours before arriving, as the facility closes earlier in winter months and last entry occurs about half an hour before closing time.
Many visitors do not realize the facility regularly offers feeding sessions and guided tours where you can get very close to animals like meerkats and red howler monkeys. These activities provide views of animal behavior that are difficult to observe otherwise.
