Wildpark Ortenburg, Wildlife park in Ortenburg, Germany
Wildpark Ortenburg is a wildlife park spanning about 25 hectares with European and international animals such as deer, goats, llamas, alpacas, coatis, and yaks in spacious enclosures. Maintained pathways allow visitors to walk through and observe the various animal species up close.
The park was established in 1974 by Count Alram and has been managed by the Schobesberger family since 1987. Under their stewardship, the animal collection has expanded and visitor facilities have been developed.
The park hosts regular events with music, magicians, and children activities that turn the grounds into a family gathering place throughout the season. Visitors can interact directly with animals while learning about their behavior and how they live.
The grounds are located about 15 minutes from Passau and offer parking, a snack bar, a playground, and trampolines for additional activities. Well-maintained pathways make it easy to navigate, and a visit typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
At the entrance, there is a free-roaming area where visitors can feed and interact with deer and goats using food purchased at the counter. This hands-on experience creates a direct connection with the animals and is often the highlight for young visitors.
