Exotic Zoo Wildlife Park, Zoo in Telford Town Park, Dawley, England
Exotic Zoo Wildlife Park is a zoo set within Telford Town Park in Dawley, England. The site is divided into themed zones, including a rainforest area, a desert zone, and a nocturnal section, all connected by wide paths suitable for strollers and small groups.
The park grew out of the development of Telford Town Park, itself built on former industrial land in the West Midlands. Over time, the wildlife section expanded and was joined by a natural history museum, broadening the site's purpose.
Many visitors book what the park calls VIP experience days, where they can meet animals such as otters, meerkats, and armadillos up close. These sessions are often chosen as a gift and are one of the most personal ways to connect with the animals on site.
Much of the visit takes place outdoors, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are a good idea. The site has a cafe and picnic areas, and parking is available nearby.
The zoo also contains the Telford Natural History Museum, free to enter with a zoo ticket, where a real T-rex skull bone and the fossil of the largest egg ever laid are on display. The on-site fossil preparation lab is one of only two in the UK open to the public, so visitors can watch a real palaeontologist at work.
