Construction Insolite - Musée des Arts Buissonniers, Art museum and theme park in Saint-Sever-du-Moustier, France
Construction Insolite is an art museum and theme park in Saint-Sever-du-Moustier featuring stone vaults, sculpted columns, forged metal pieces, mosaics, and ceramics overlooking the village. The site combines artistic installations with craftsmanship and displays a mix of different materials and techniques throughout its grounds.
The artistic project was founded in 2003 and has grown through contributions from over 1000 participants. This development was inspired by the work of artists such as Gaudi and Facteur Cheval.
The museum displays works from artists working in different styles and houses the Paul Amar Gallery featuring imaginative shell-based creations painted with nail polish and adorned with glitter. This collection shows how ordinary materials can be transformed into creative expressions.
The museum operates on a pay-what-you-wish system and offers guided tours, artistic workshops, and treasure hunts. The site can accommodate groups of up to 50 visitors and provides various interactive activities for guests.
A sculpture garden was established in 2010 and expands annually with new red sandstone statues created during artist residency programs. This growing collection makes the site an ever-changing artistic laboratory.
