La Cité Nocturne

La Cité Nocturne is a theme park with historical villages spread across 55 hectares of forest grounds. Evening shows feature theatrical effects, water displays, fireworks, and large-scale stage productions.

The park began in 1978 as a local reenactment of Vendée regional history. It grew from these origins into a complex featuring multiple shows about European historical events.

Four historical villages within the park display traditional craftsmanship and everyday practices from different periods. You can see how people worked and lived in a medieval settlement and an early 1900s French town.

The grounds include 27 dining options ranging from traditional restaurants to casual food stands. Advance reservations provide additional discounts during busy periods.

Ships emerge from lakes during evening performances, creating a visually striking moment. These scenes form part of the most spectacular moments in the nightly shows.
