Domaine La Yole, Recreation area and theme park in Vendres, France.
Domaine La Yole is a recreation area and theme park in Vendres, in the south of France, with direct access to Mediterranean beaches. The grounds include heated pools, water slides, an adventure area, and several types of accommodation such as mobile homes, tree houses, and lodge tents.
The site was originally a wine estate, part of the long agricultural tradition of the Hérault region. Over the past few decades, it was gradually transformed into a holiday resort while keeping part of the vineyard active.
The name "La Yole" comes from an old Occitan word for a small fishing boat, reflecting the area's long ties to the Mediterranean coast. The estate still produces wine from its own vines, and bottles can be bought directly on site.
The grounds are large, so it helps to pick up a map on arrival to find the different areas more easily. The beach is directly accessible from the site, so no vehicle is needed to reach the water.
The site has a BMX track alongside its tree climbing courses and other land-based activities, which is uncommon for a beach resort. This makes it a workable destination even for visitors who are not drawn primarily by the sea.
