Small Worlds Tokyo, Miniature museum in Koto City, Japan
Small Worlds Tokyo is a miniature museum in Koto City, Japan. It occupies a renovated warehouse and features eight themed areas with moving miniatures at a scale of 1:80, including a space center, global streets, and anime-inspired zones.
The museum opened in 2020 inside a former logistics warehouse. It was created to showcase Japanese craftsmanship and technology through miniature worlds.
The name Small Worlds reflects the idea of discovering tiny worlds within our own. Visitors often spend time spotting small details, like figures going about daily life, and the museum also offers workshops to create your own miniature figure.
The museum is indoors, so you can visit regardless of the weather. It is a short walk from Ariake Tennis no Mori Station, and the galleries are spread over two floors with elevators and wheelchair access.
You can have a 3D scan of yourself made into a miniature figure, and if you become a resident, your figure is displayed in the museum for a year. On certain days, you can even bring your pet dog or cat.
