Champagne De Venoge, Champagne house in Épernay, France

Champagne De Venoge is a champagne house on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, France, open to visitors for cellar tours and tastings. The house also has an on-site shop where bottles can be bought directly, and staff speak French, English, and Spanish.

Henri-Marc De Venoge founded the house in 1837 after moving from Switzerland to the Champagne region with his son Joseph. In 1998, the house became part of the Boizel Chanoine Champagne group, now known as Lanson BCC, which brought new resources while keeping the founding traditions in place.

The Avenue de Champagne, where the house sits, draws visitors from around the world who come to walk its stretch of historic champagne houses side by side. It is a street where the trade and the daily life of the town are closely tied together, and the connection between the two is easy to feel when you walk through it.

The house sits on the Avenue de Champagne, so it is easy to combine a visit with other houses on the same street without needing a car. Booking a cellar tour in advance is a good idea, as group sizes tend to be limited.

Henri-Marc De Venoge designed the first illustrated and colorful champagne bottle labels in 1838, at a time when most bottles carried plain or minimal markings. The house also holds a library of nearly 20,000 bottles from different years, one of the largest private collections in the region.
