Le Cigopanoramique

Le Cigopanoramique is a monorail system that travels across the Cigoland theme park grounds and provides views over the Alsace region. The ride winds through different zones of the park, allowing visitors to explore the landscape from an elevated vantage point.

The Cigoland site developed over decades as a refuge and protected zone for white storks in the Alsace region. The monorail was later added to give visitors an overview of this conservation effort.

The monorail passes over areas where white storks live, birds that hold special meaning in Alsatian tradition and local identity. Visitors gain insight into why these creatures are woven into the region's sense of place and heritage.

The best time to ride is during the warmer months when wildlife is active and the surrounding vegetation looks green and full. Good walking shoes are practical since visitors often explore the park grounds on foot before or after the ride.

The route passes over enclosures holding more than 150 animal species living in different habitats throughout the park. Some species are rarely spotted because they are only active during certain times of day or stay in less accessible zones.
