Coronation Street Experience, Tourist attraction in Trafford, GB
The Coronation Street Experience is a tourist attraction in Trafford, near Manchester, set on the working ITV Studios lot. Visitors walk along the real outdoor set of the show, including the cobbled street, the Rovers Return pub, the corner shop, and other familiar building fronts.
Coronation Street has been on air since 1960, making it one of the longest-running soap operas on British television. The outdoor sets evolved over the decades before production moved to the current studio complex in Trafford.
The nearest tram stop is Imperial War Museum, from which it is a short walk to the entrance. Because the cobbled streets can be uneven, flat and sturdy footwear is a good idea.
Visitors can ring the bell inside the Rovers Return Inn, just as characters like Bet Lynch and Liz McDonald did in the show. Dogs are also welcome on the site on certain days, which makes for an unexpected outing for pet owners.
