Estrechos de Valloré, Natural gorge near Villarluengo, Spain

The Estrechos de Valloré are a natural gorge near the small village of Montoro de Mezquita, in the province of Teruel, carved by the Guadalope River. Wooden walkways run along the narrow rock walls, allowing visitors to explore the terrain on a short, accessible path.

The gorge was shaped over thousands of years by the Guadalope River, which slowly carved through the rock and left the steep walls visible today. The wooden walkways were built in more recent times to open the area safely to visitors, though some sections have been damaged by floods.

The name Valloré refers to the narrow valley carved by the Guadalope River, and it describes exactly what visitors see when they arrive: tall, nearly vertical rock walls framing the water below. The wooden walkways built along the cliff edge have become the defining feature of the site, drawing families and walkers from across the region.

The starting point is at the parking area at the entrance of Montoro de Mezquita, as private vehicles are not allowed into the village. The ground can be slippery after heavy rain, and some walkway sections may be temporarily closed following floods.

Although the walkway section is relatively short, it connects to a longer trail along the river that eventually reaches the town of Aliaga, several hours away on foot. Walkers who slow down along the way may notice small natural springs bubbling up between the rocks, known locally as los Chorros.
