Versettlabahn, Cable car in Gaschurn, Austria
The Versettlabahn is an aerial cable car in Gaschurn that carries passengers from the valley up into the mountains. It climbs more than 1000 meters in elevation over two sections and includes an intermediate station.
The cable car was built in 1986 and replaced two older chairlifts with a modern gondola system. This was a major step forward for mountain access in the Silvretta Montafon region.
The cable car links Gaschurn village to mountain destinations that hikers and winter sports fans use year-round. It has become part of daily life for people who work or play in the region.
You can board at the valley station and make the journey in two stages or go straight to the mountain station. Wind and bad weather can cause service interruptions.
The middle station allows mountain bikers to begin their rides without needing to climb the whole way up. This has made the area a popular spot for biking adventures.
